Because you are compelled by creativity and the natural world, and are interested in fresh, divergent perspectives. Perhaps you are a lover of words, art and ecology and enjoy reading for new inspiration. Or maybe you’ve had enough of the ‘scroll and click’ attention economy culture we live in and crave something slower with personal connection. Overall, I hope you’ll read my words to find community, solidarity and companionship. We are not alone in this messy, broken, beautiful world and can weave new webs of souls through our sharing.

About Emily

I am a writer, researcher, walking artist and wanderer based in the Dee Valley, North Wales, UK. My words are laced with autistic tendrils of ecofeminism, therapeutic landscapes, neurodivergence, spirituality, animism and occasional black humour. I like books, walks, cats, dancing and quiet moments. Find me in the spaces between and we’ll pop the kettle on for a brew.

Wild Margins

The name Wild Margins comes from a poem of mine, which was inspired by the academic work of Chris Seeley, who is no longer with us. Chris and I didn’t know each other, but discovering her thesis made me feel that I too might one day be capable of such things. I tell this story because we must give credit and pay homage to where our ideas germinate from.

WILD MARGINS

are found in forget me nots
the places between
bleeding of ink on a page
the mixing of colours
not an edge, but a spiral
constantly becoming
into and out of itself
the ivy tangled hedge
dandelions in abundance
this is where the skin of me can blur
into a hundred different shapes
carving new space
within a world
aching to remember itself
