Good morning (in GMT time) dear readers,
This month I have a shorter letter for you, with some audio gifts from my poetry collection Body of Water. The water is calling again, and I have been for two very cold dips in the healing waters of North Wales. Visiting the wells of St Dyfnog and St Winefride have been such a discovery, and I can’t wait to visit more wells across Wales. The spiritual heritage of the lands I find myself living is rich, living and abundantly available to all faiths and secular seekers.
Three poems…
Ladies’ Pond (written about the swimming pond at Hampstead Heath, introduced to me by Jude Claybourne:
Passing Place (about my relationship with Ullapool, a coastal village in NW Scotland, and places that keep calling us back to them).
Thirdly, here is a recording of my poem Bondage, which isn’t as kinky as it sounds - think being bound to water and oceans for healing and love.
The Arousing Beckons…
On March 20th, this slice of the hemisphere will enjoy the Vernal Equinox, otherwise known as The Arousing (an old folk name). In the run up to the tipping point, I’d like to share with you a commissioned film and audio piece I made for Meadow Arts during the pandemic.
Elsewhere…
I am very excited to have had an article accepted for Unpsychology magazine, which will come out later this year. This lovely publication has just moved to Substack, subscribe to enjoy future editions. Music-wise, the tunes of Beautiful Chorus are keeping me calm as background music to many things, check out their Resonance Meditation albums if you enjoy soundscapes and a bit of chakra-themed joy.
A change of heart…
I wrote about how the paid/free versions of this newsletter would work in my last email, then changed my mind. Pushing marketing on people just isn’t really my style, so I am going to make all general letters available to free subscribers. Paid subscribers will get additional gifts/letters at points in the year, and are welcome to a free 1-1 coaching/mentoring session online if this decision disappoints in any way. The full archives will remain accessible only for paid subscriptions. So really, it’s a ‘sign up if you’d like to support my work’ situation, which will appear at the bottom of each email.
Many thanks for listening and reading, I’ll be in touch later in the month with updates and a piece of writing about the art of basketry and weaving.
