As April draws to a close I have a visual-auditory poetic sharing for you. It is a pleasure to share this filmpoem made in March for Radiate Arts, as part of the Memories of Clywedog project. The poem was written from memories of alumni who went to school in Birmingham and enjoyed childhood trips to the former Bryntail Camp. The film will be shown to current secondary school pupils from the city, who will visit the Clywedog reservoir later this year.
This work was so interesting to make, it’s content crossing the Wales-England border. It touches on the subject of English use of Welsh Valleys, flooding farms and villages by water companies, inner city access to green spaces and the effects of spending time in nature on young people’s lives.
I love that as an artist, I can create films like this on a smartphone and standard macbook software. To commission a lo-fi filmpoem about a specific place or theme, do get in touch.
