Hi friends,
This month I have details of an open studio for you over two weekends in June. Emma Jayne Holmes and I are setting up for the Borderland Visual Arts annual open studio trail in her lovely studio in Cefn Mawr.
Last week, Joseph Schneider and I welcomed a group of creatives to the Rural Art Hub in Ellesmere for our first How Does An Artist Grow? event, focusing on artists and mental health. If you missed it and would like to join the conversation, there is a zoom event this Wednesday evening.
My next bit of news is rather big! I was a busy bee at the start of the year, writing an application for a funded PhD with SWW-DTP. I am SO happy to share that this pipe dream will soon become reality, and I’ll be starting off my research with the topic Desire Lines: Rewilding Ecofeminist Pathways to an Artful Sense of Place. From September this will be my full time job, including a field study in my local AONB across the Dee Valley and Clwydian Range. I hope there will be lots of opportunities to get involved with the research and I’m looking forward to sharing my artist researcher journey with you.
Until June, happy wandering!
